The isaw

Isaw is a street food from the Philippines, made from barbecued pig or chicken intestines. The intestines are cleaned, turned inside out, and cleaned again, repeating the process several times. They are then either boiled, then grilled, or immediately grilled on sticks.


Isaw is one of Philippines most favorite food. I really love it as a snack during the day and night. I remember before we had a neighbor who used to sell this type of food. Every time I chat with my husband and I forget to to cook, I will just step outside and order some isaw. I sometimes eat it at my computer while chatting my husband. One time he was really curios about what I was eating because he said it looks weird to him. So I showed it to him on my web cam and told him that it was a chicken intestine. And he said how can you eat that. it looks so nasty because its its a poop shut. But I jsut laugh at him because I know that he never tasted this kind of food before. Oh gosh I really miss the Isaw I wish we could have this food here in the US lols!
