The Atis

My grandparents has many types of fruit tress in their backyard and one of them is the ATIS. This is one of my favorite types of fruit, every time we visit them in the province I get spoiled with so many different types of fruits to choose.

The atis fruit are popular backyard fruit in the Philippines together with banana, jack fruit, pomelos, guavas and many more. The atis fruit has a scaly skin and its almost round and about 10 cm wide. It is called a 'sugar apple'. The taste of the flesh of the ripe fruit is slightly sweet and soft. The many black pips are scattered through the flesh of the atis.
