I think my mom is upset with me

I just chatted with my mom this morning and she ask me a lot of things about where to get her social security card. I ask her why she is asking me because I don't have any idea where to get ssn in New York, why don't she ask her husband or check in the phone book. I think she got upset with me when I told her like that, but really there is nothing I can do for her from here. What makes me confused is that her husband is an American but he doesn't have any idea where to get hers, it doesn't makes sense to me. Well I guess they just don't know where to go...
